Cidalia Benson - Watercolour Artist

About Cidalia

Cidalia Benson is participating for the first time in the Surrey Artists Open Studios 2007. Her watercolour paintings can be seen from the 2nd to 17th June from 12 to 6 pm each day at her studio at Stream House, Furnace Place, Haslemere.

Cidalia was born in Mozambique Africa in 1955 of Portuguese descent. She lived in France, Canada and Portugal until settling in the UK in 1975 to study Law at the University of London. She obtained a degree, practised, married and became a mother. She always felt drawn to the arts but it was not until a fellow artist and friend encouraged her to pick up a paint brush that she realised her dream and her potential.

Cidalia says:

"I am so excited about welcoming visitors to my studio for the first time and hope that they will enjoy viewing my paintings as much as I have enjoyed painting them."

Working primarily in watercolour, her paintings reflect the mood of her diverse subject matter and the inspiration born from the colour and joy of places she has visited and people she has met and taken into her soul.
